Almost two years ago, February 2005 when I had just returned from a Sunrider business trip the Understanding Yourself and Others course was cancelled while I was away. Sparkle Simmons had already arrived into Fort Myers from St Louis to teach the course before it was cancelled. She immediately called graduates and gathered everyone for a Global party at Donna Stewart's home. When I returned and learned that the course had been cancelled I took a long walk as I do each morning and stated my ultimatum to God saying, " I cannot do both Sunrider and Global businesses. I have to close Global or give me another solution!" I literally walked into my home, the phone was ringing and Sparkle was on the line. She said, "Willo, you need help! Can I come and be your Center Manager." Well as many of you know, Sparkle came to work at the Center within two weeks, brought her two children to Florida in August and presently is nearing her second year at the Center.

Our immediate intention when she came was to have our own Center within one year. I'm very happy to say that February of 2006 I found the place that on March 1, 2006 we rented. We had our first US Attitudes class at the Center the last weekend in February. It really is helpful to set intentions. I also want to say it is because of Sparkle Simmons that we still have a place to have our outstanding courses because she came when I needed help. In this last year we have held a class every month and have had 143 new students go through our doors. We've had Adele Woodrow, Jan Davisson, Charlie Campbell, Beth Sexton, Joe Sexton, Charlie Howe, Lois Geisler and myself sign up to become instructors or gain advanced people skills in one or more Corporate trainings in 2006. Two others, Bethany Burrows and Justin Albino have put deposits down to begin instructor training in 2007.

It is the beginning of a new year. Sparkle and I have set our intentions for what we want at the Center in 2007. Understanding Yourself and Others is our basic course that many people start to begin looking within themselves to see their true magnificence. We have one UYO course each month and it usually is the third weekend of the month. There are a few exceptions so check the calendar. We are putting our attention into our intention of having 20 students in every UYO course this year. We want our UYO courses to reach more people. The quote from last month's course was, "This was the best weekend of my life." We intend to have 300 new students come through our doors in 2007. From the influx of more people we intend to have 10 new instructor candidates in 2007.

The vision that I have for the Center to Self Reliance is to have a place to learn to take responsibility for ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. I will still be focusing on the physical part of self reliance by having classes every Tuesday evening, Thursday noon, and the second Saturday of the month on the philosophy of regeneration versus substitution. We will be expanding the information on how to stay healthy by eating whole foods, juicing, and exercise.

Our array of classes in the emotional arena include Understanding Yourself and Others, Loving Yourself and Others, Money Freedom, Redirecting Children's Behavior, US Attitudes, Generating Results Cooperatively and Confidence Coaching. Wouldn't you like some incredible tools to learn what your subconscious beliefs are that are affecting the results that you get in your life? All of our courses are based on Adlerian psychology. What we decided in the first seven years of our life are based on the feelings that we felt when we were children. As children we didn't always make the best interpretations of those feelings. As adults when we begin to understand what decisions we made, how those feelings can still be running our lives and how they do not serve us, we can instantly decide to change those beliefs. Our courses give people tools to practice their new beliefs with people that they love the most--usually their own families of origin.

To bring new people into the Center our Generating Results Cooperatively, Redirecting Children's Behavior, Money Freedom and Confidence Coaching will be our courses that we introduce people to what is so unique and special about our courses.

The least developed part of the Center is the spiritual aspect of being self reliant. I have some exciting plans and visions for 2007 in this arena so stay tuned as they unfold. One beginning step is starting January 7th. Sparkle Simmons will be leading a study on the year long program written by Pamela Dunn, the President of Global Relationship Centers, "Journey to Your Soul's Magnificence, What a Difference a Year Makes." It will be at 3 PM on Sunday.
